QARADAĞ RAYONU LÖKBATAN QƏSƏBƏSİ MƏKTƏBLİLƏRİ ARASINDA MİOPİYANIN RASTGƏLMƏ TEZLİYİ

Abstract

SUMMARY

Aim - Studies of the frequency of myopia, the causes of growth and plans for preventive interventions among
schoolchildren in the Lökbatan settlement of Karadag district.

Materials and methods
Researches were conducted among 5 schools of 7,731 pupils, age 6-18,1-XI grades, 2000-2012 year of birth during
the medical examination in February - April of 2018. Studies were carried out in the school (checking visual acuity
with correction) and in the polyclinic (skiascopy, refractometry, ophthalmoscopy) under conditions of cycloplegia.


Results
At the end most of all refractive pathology was due to myopia. Thus out of 809 patients identified, 601 pupils
were (74.3%) with myopia. It was found out that 58.9% of girls (354 people), 41.1% of boys (247 people) suffer
from myopia. The frequency of myopia among 6-12 years was 270 (45%), 13-18 years - 331 (55%) people.


Coclusions
Thus according to our studies myopia predominates among schoolchildren who study in Lökbatan, both girls
and boys.
The prophylactic measures among the schoolchildren will make it feasible to reveal diseases, to prevent the
complications, to perform the dynamic observation, to obtain the more effective results of treatment. This is
very significant in the prevention of refractive amblyopia. From this point of view the conducting of preventive
examinations is very important.
