SUMMARY

Aim – to analyse common eye diseases among boys-teenagers living in Khizi District. 

Material and methods
The research has been conducted on the basis of the commission of military-medical examination at the Central Hospital of Khizi District. The survey was conducted in 215 at the age of 13-16 years old.

Results
50 cases of ophthalmic diseases have been revealed. According to the age all diseases were distributed as follows: in 13 years old boys - 6 (12%) cases of diseases, in 14 years old boys - 10 (20%) cases of diseases, in 15 years old boys - 16 (32%) cases of diseases, in 16 years old boys - 18 (36%) cases of diseases have been revealed. Among the detected common diseases the more widespreaded were the refractive anomalies - 64%. Among the refractive errors the more widespreaded is myopia (26%) and mixed astigmatism (22%). Due to the prevalence of myopia especially high myopia have been revealed 10% of myopic chorioretinal dystrophy. Continuous visual work and overfatigue led to a spasm of accommodation in 12%, in 6% - to refractive amblyopia. Simple hyperopic astigmatism and compound hypermetropic astigmatism was 8% each. Among the boys the strabismus, nonpigmented nevus and dry eyes, each 2%, respectively have been revealed as 2% respectively.

Conclusion
So, the early diagnosis among the boys, dynamic of observation wile make it feasible to estimate the treatment tactics and the possibilities to serve in army.
