Abstract

SUMMARY

In this clinical case there was reported a 59 years old patient with large macular ruptures. During pars plana
vitrectomy after dye staining the ILM was not completely removed and then was inverted to cover and fill the
macular hole. After 20 days from the surgery the hole was completely closed. The patients vision improved and
was 0.06 by Snellen.
So, inverted ILM flap technique appeared to be a safe and successful approach for the management of large
idiopathic MHs with promising short-term anatomical and functional results.
