Abstract

SUMMARY

Aim - assessment of disability risqué as the result of ophthalmologic diseases depending on quality of ophthalmologic care.

Material and methods
The quality of ophthalmologic care to 100 patients with myopia have been studied by the method of directed selection (50 persons are disabled as the result of myopia and 50 persons are in control group) and 100 persons with cataract (50 persons are disabled as the result of cataract and 50 persons are in control group). The following criteria of ophthalmologic aid have been used:
– timely detection of progressing pathology;
– adequacy of treatment;
– completeness of examination and treatment.

Results 
it is determined that the pathology was revealed inopportunetly and treatment was inadequate among patients disables as the result of myopia and cataract more than patients in control group.

Conclusion
Reliable predictors of the risk of disability are the criteria for the quality of ophthalmologic care (inadequate detection, treatment and examination).
