SUMMARY
Purpose. In work it was raised an object to value the severity of medico-social burden of primary disablement owing to
the lens pathology by some criteria: the specific weight among the invalids with eye pathology, patients staff by
groups of disablement, the age at the moment of initial examination, life duration associated with disablement.
2227 cases of the primary invalidity due to the lens pathology were investigated. It was determined that 13,7±
0,27% of initial cases of disablement owing to the eye pathology bounded with disease of lens, medium age of
invalids arranged 46,27±0,22 years, in the predominate majority the primary disablement begins after 60 years
(30,5%). The age risk relatively low at the age of 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 years, high at the of 50-54, 60 and
elder. The average duration of impending life associated with disablement arranged by 24, 87 years for men, 29,95
years for women.
