SUMMARY

Objective of the research is to assess the efficiency of combined surgical treatment method in patients with
limited elevation caused by the paralysis of muscle elevating the eye, contracture of inferior rectus muscle,
pseudoptosis and abnormal position ofhead.

Materials and methods
The research covers 14 patients at the age of 7-36 who had surgery due to limited elevation of one eye.
Hypertrophy on the intact eye was 40-45 PD during fixation with involved eye. All patients had transposition
of horizontal muscles by Knapp, improved by Foster, simultaneously recession of inferior rectus muscle with
protection of ciliary artery of the involved eye and recession of superior rectus muscle with retroequatorially
fixation suture on the intact eye.

Conclusions
The given research showed that patient who had a combined surgery, had effective correction of the hyportropia
without diplopia and ischemia of the anterior segment, the elevation during abduction and adduction was improved
and patients started to have fusion and stereopsis.
