Abstract

SUMMARY

Present article deals with the most informative examination methods to further the preclinical stage to reveal the involvement of the visual analyzer in the demyelinating process. Modern approaches to the early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, such as visual evoked potentials (VEP), electroretinography (ERG) and the spectral coherence tomography (SOCT) were evaluated to determine the thickness of the retinal nerve fber layer. The necessity of nero ophthalmic examination for early diagnosis of CNS demyelinating disease was pointed out.
