Azerbaijan Journal of Ophthalmology is a peer-reviewed open-access periodical that publishes original articles reflecting the results of both local and foreign scientists on current problems in ophthalmology and related sciences. The journal has been published quarterly in both print and electronic formats by the National Ophthalmology Centre named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva since 2009 (www.oftalmologiya.az). The journal is included in the list of publications approved by the Supreme Attestation Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan and is intended for professor, faculty, researchers, and individuals pursuing scientific degrees. The journal has been assigned an international ISSN codes (ISSN print: 2220-7910; ISSN online: 2709-4634) and is registered in the CROSSREF, RSCI, and ROAD databases.
The journal's editorial board publishes articles in the order of discussion, and they may not necessarily agree with the authors' opinions. The authors are responsible for the reliability of the data, adherence to the ethical research standards in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki, and the absence of conflicts of interest. The editorial board is not responsible for the content of advertising materials.
The submitted article must be original. Articles previously published or simultaneously submitted for review to other journals will not be accepted. An author may submit a published portion of their dissertation as a manuscript, provided that this manuscript is only a part of the dissertation and not presented as a component of another journal article. If the presence of plagiarized content or duplication resulting from the use of generative artificial intelligence technology is detected, the article will not be reviewed. When using figures, photos, or tables from other publications, written permission for republication from the authors of those materials is required and must be submitted to the editorial board.
All accepted articles for publication are assigned a unique, permanent digital object identifier (DOI).
Only articles prepared in accordance with the guidelines specified for authors will be accepted for publication. All manuscripts must include page and line numbers.
